The difference between RPM of the rotating magnetic field (synchronous speed) and RPM of the rotor (actual speed) in an induction motor. Slip is expressed in percentage and may be calculated by the following formula:
(sync. spd - actual spd / sync. spd) x 100
ex: (1,850-1,775/1,850) x 100 = 4%
