Frequency

Term that defines how many times a second alternating current or AC changes direction of flow from positive to negative as it passes through a conductor. In the United States current flow alternates from positive to negative 60 times a second. In many other countries electricity cycles 50 times a second. This unit of frequency measure is called hertz.
