| Totally Enclosed Non-Ventilated (TENV) motors have no vents or openings. The enclosure of this motor limits the exchange of air in the motor, but is not airtight. TENV motors have no cooling fan, and so rely upon convection of heat in the motor frame to surrounding air. These motors operate satisfactorily in dirty, damp, or oily environments, but not in hazardous locations. |
