Economic Comparisons

When it's time to replace a motor, two questions arise:

  1. How quickly can the motor be replaced? and
  2. How much will it cost?

If the replacement motor and the failed motor are characteristically identical, then price is the deciding factor. However, whenever upgrading with a more expensive Energy Efficient Motor, the recovery of initial costs must be thoroughly analyzed. Cost recovery derives from energy savings accumulated over time due to the greater efficiency of the replacement motor.
