Low Pressure Sodium lamps have long rated average lives. Depending on lamp
type, most are rated at 18,000 hours. Normal end-of-life occurs when the lamp
fails to either start or warm up to full light output.
This diagram illustrates the approximate survival curve of Low Pressure Sodium lamps. Note that lamp age has very little effect on start-ability. Older lamps may be expected to start as readily as new lamps.
