LPS Design Considerations

Click for larger imageLow Pressure Sodium lighting is the most efficient of all electric lighting systems. This makes it an excellent choice for application where lights are left on for long periods of time such as street lighting.

The main disadvantage of Low Pressure Sodium light is its poor color characteristics. This type of light is monochromatic making it virtually useless in rendering colors. Therefore, its use is limited to applications where color isn't important but where long life, good lumen maintenance and efficiency are primary concerns.
