Basic Lighting System
A basic lighting system consists of the source, the means to energize that
source, and the means to electrically and optically control the light produced by
that source. Fixtures contribute to both forms of control of light from a
system.
Electrical control provides the ability to adjust the amount of light for various situations and tasks. Lighting controls maximize energy savings without sacrificing the quality of the light or the productivity of occupants. Electrical and electronic controls include: Occupancy Sensors, Dimmers, Photocells, as well as the ubiquitous Manual On /Off Switches.
