Air-to-water

Air-to-water heat exchangers are usually pipe or tubing coils in the air stream, either bare or with metal fins, using water flowing through the tubes. Another type uses large, bare tubes with air or vapors flowing through these tubes. On the shell side, water flows across the tubes, which are baffled to provide adequate water velocity. Plate-coil types are also used.
